Sri Meikandaar Matriculation Higher Secondary School was established in 1984 in Manachanallur with the objective of providing quality, value-based education at an affordable cost to children from rural and socially disadvantaged backgrounds.
The school now offers education from LKG to Class XII and serves around 1000 students, including a large number of first-generation learners. Over four decades, the institution has built a strong reputation for academic discipline, ethical values, leadership development, and social responsibility.
Academic excellence remains a defining strength. The school has consistently achieved 100% pass results in Class X and Class XII board examinations, supported by systematic academic planning, formative and summative assessments, special coaching, mentoring, and counseling.
For early learners, the school follows child-centric and Montessori-inspired methods, with AV-enabled classrooms from LKG to Class I and app-supported learning for LKG and UKG. Higher classes focus on concept-based instruction, analytical thinking, and problem solving.
Through the SUITs collaboration with Bharathidasan University, students from Classes V to IX are introduced to practical technical skills. Sports, yoga, and silambam, along with health and vision screening and scholarship support, strengthen holistic growth.

Sri Meikandaar Matriculation Higher Secondary School began in 1984 with just 14 children and a firm belief that education can transform lives. The founding goal was to provide meaningful and value-based education to rural children, especially first-generation learners.
From that humble beginning, the school has grown into a vibrant institution serving more than 1000 students. A major milestone in this journey was the upgradation as a Higher Secondary School in 2016, enabling learners to continue within the same nurturing environment.
Our guiding philosophy remains unchanged: education must develop intellectual strength along with humane values, integrity, and social contribution. The progress of the institution reflects the dedication of teachers, the trust of parents, and the enthusiasm of students.
